Cry Havoc- and release the dogs of 2009 College Football Season

Who will be next years Urban Meyer? Do the Gators have a chance at 3 titles in half a decade? Will the return of the "Awe-Schucks Kid from Tuscola" mean that Tex-ass will win it all?

The all-knowing, all-seeing Vegas oddsmakers have put out their odds for who will win the National Championship in the 2009 season. A couple of their odds make sense, Texas, USC, Oklahoma and The Gators are all up there pretty high. But a couple of these odds don't make any sense at all. Georgia, Miami and LSU are ahead of Bama, are they serious. Bama's returning their entire defense and John Parker Wilson is graduating. Bama might not come within twenty points of a loss all year.

But the biggest disappointment of all is that they think that Michigan has the same chance of winning the National Championship as Oklahoma State and California. Did they watch a Michigan game this year. Who the Hell do they think will QB the Wolverines into a National Championship.

Here are the odds for next years season, just put out in Vegas.

Top Five:

1)USC 4-to-1, 2)Florida 5-1, 3)Oklahoma 7-1, 4)Texas 8-1, 5)Ohio State 9-1,

15-1:

Florida State 15-1, Virginia Tech 15-1,

20-1:

Georgia 20-1, Miami ( Fla ) 20-1, LSU 20-1,

25-1:

Alabama 25-1,Notre Dame 25-1,

30-1:

Oregon 30-1, Penn State 30-1, Texas Tech 30-1,

40-1:

Nebraska 40-1, Georgia Tech 40-1, North Carolina 40-1, West Virginia 40-1,

50-1:

Illinois 50-1, Tennessee 50-1,

60-1:

Oklahoma State 60-1, Missouri 60-1, Utah 60-1, California 60-1, Wisconsin 60-1, Michigan 60-1,

75-1:

Iowa 75-1, Kansas 75-1, South Carolina 75-1

100-1:

TCU 100-1, Arkansas 100-1Michigan State 100-1Cincinnati 100-1Boston College 100-1

There are so many different things wrong with these odds, I almost have to ask if there legitimate. First off, two glaring odds jump right off the paper at you:

1) Alabama is a 25 to one shot along with Notre Dame, er what? Notre friggin Dame has the same odds at winning the National Championship as the team that was ranked number one throughout most of the year and returns almost every single player on defense, and a crushing amount of talent on offense. Yes- new QB, I get it. But I guarantee that McElroy will be a thousand times better than Parker Wilson. ND was lucky to go 6-6 this year. This just goes to show you that individuals involved in college football, specifically journalism, don't know what the ---- they are talking about. These two teams are basically even odds going into next year because ND had an impressive win over Hawaii and Bama lost to Utah. I have got some news for you, win or lose, both teams were going to return the same team next year. But if ND had lost to Hawaii and Bama had beaten Utah, Bama would be 5 to 1 to win the NC and Notre Dame would be like a zillion to one shot. It just doesn't make any sense.

2) This I cannot believe. Michigan is a 60 to 1 shot at winning the National Championship. What the F*&%$? The real odds are ten million to one that Michigan wins 8 games, let alone a National Championship. Who exactly is going to take the snaps behind center that makes UM a 60 to 1 shot Nick Sheridan, Steven Threet or Tate Forcier?

Do you want the real odds, more importantly, do you want to use these odds to make some cheddar in The Patented Nudge System? See, who says the off-season can't be fun. All right, let's make some cheddar.

500 Points on: Bama at 25-1 and Penn State at 30-1

400 Points on: USC at 4-1 and slOhio St at 9-1

300 Points on: Florida State at 15-1

200 Points on: Texas at 8-1

Mark this page and keep it in your favorites. I guarantee that come January 9, 2010 this info will be a money maker. But not only that, these are the only teams that will be competing for a NC next year.

If you ain't a Gator, your....

I don't know what The Nudge was happier about, Timmy Tebow and Urban Meyer winning their second National Championship, or me hitting with my six consecutive FIVE STAR pick. With the final game of the 2008 College Football Season, those that have been following my advise have hit on 12 out of 15 FIVE STAR picks. And need I remind you that those three loses came at a combined total of 5 points from covering. Sometimes I even amaze myself.

Look, I've been handicapping college games for the past couple of years. I've never had more than two FIVE STAR losses in one season, so in that regard, I'm a little down on myself. But really, do you know of any other handicapper that is posting

Let The Nudgery Continue

She works at a Deli, seriously, I'm not kidding

The Nudge covered big today with my four star Rice pick. Chase Clement to Jarret Dillard was just too much for the Broncos of Western Michigan to handle. If Rice keeps improving with their defense, they should start building a program that could compete, but that's a big if. Next year with them losing the two best players in the history of their school, their offense migt not get going for a while. Watch out for The Nudge picks going against them early and often next year. I lost on a 2 star game with NC State losing by 6 to Rutgers. I know this sounds like a broken record, but you can't predict big injuries to big players in a game. While NC State Qb Russell Wilson was in the game, NC State was moving the ball. Before the end of the second half, he suffered a knee injury and O'Brien brought in Daniel Evans, the guy who started the season at QB and was horrible. Evans used to be effective a couple of years ago, but he has never caught on to the O'Brien spread attack. ANYWHOSE. Loss

The Nudge told you that Pat Fitzgerald would have his team fired up and that the game would be closer than most of the pundits thought. The Nudge still had Mizzoo as a four star pick with Mizzoo giving 10 and a nudge. Loss Mark my words, if there's one coach in all college football whose job is safe, outside of Pete Carroll, it's Fitzgerald. He's got the backing of the entire school and student body behind him and he has the Northwestern program heading in a great direction. Look for the Cats to cover a couple of times next year.

The Nudge covered in a big way Honey with the Maryland Terps 2* and Rice 4*, and at press time it looks like giving the ball to LaGarrette Blount in the fourth quarter is really looking good for the Ducks of Eugene 2* pick. Cover. There's still alot of football to play, but the sands of time are running out for the season, so without further ado, let's go to the Nudge Picks

Sands of time never run out for Megan Fox

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, Fort Worth, Tex-ass: How-Stun giving 3 and a nudge to The Mighty Falcons of the Air.

This is finally a national stage for Kevin Sumlin and his resurgent How-Stun team. QB "Come out of nowhere" Case Keenum has been lighting up the scoreboard out of the spread throw first offense. So far this year, he's thrown for 4,768 yards with 41 TD's. In the past four games he's thrown 402 yards, 480 yards and 494 yards in their loss to Rice. Easy pick How-Stun right? Not so fast. The Mighty Falcons of the Air have posted a quiet 8-4 record with their four losses coming at the hands of a fired up Navy team, a BCS Buster Utah, the best TCU team I ever saw and score-a-minute BYU. If your going to look for how this team played against similiar offenses, I think the BYU game is your best point of reference. And that game was close. Look for the maturity level of the Air Force Academy Cadets to be the deciding factor in this one. I'm rolling with the F-15's because "That's what Tom Cruise would do." Air Force 1* Take the over at 64, 3* Loss, Loss 1*, 3*

Brut Sun Bowl, El Paso, Tex-Ass: Oregon State giving 2 and a nudge against LeSean McCoy.

This one comes down simply to two players, Quizzz and LeSean. I think LeSean sets El Paso on fire. Easily gets 200 yards rushing to set the stage for a campaign run at The Stiff Arm next year. Pitt has been playing gritty knock out your front teeth, push back, way back offense for the past couple of weeks now. The Nudge was very impressed with them in the loss to the BearClaws and their wins against Pat White and a good UCONN team. Knock'em in the grill McCoy, big numbers. 2* Push

Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Nashville Ten-I-See: BC giving 3 and a nudge to Vandy

At first, I thought, BC and their robotic like move you down the field offense is going to win over a real over rated Vandy squad. Again, I changed my mind, I have to stop doing that. Since telling everyone that the ranked Vandy squad was the most overrated team in history, they've lost six out of their last seven games and haven't competed too well. Mr. Bama football Chris Nickson went down with an injury and Mackenzie Adams stepped in at QB. Look for do-everything Vandy CB DJ Moore to really have a big impact in this one. So why am I rolling with Vandy against all of my intuitions. BC is starting Frosh QB Dominique Davis down in Nashville. This is defenitely a de-Facto home game for the Commodores and Davis, although possesing tremendous athletic ability, will be affected by the crowd. Vandy has to jump on him early and cause some turnovers. BC is going to look to run the ball straight at them, Vandy will stack the line and force Davis to pass, when he does, he'll probably hit Moore a couple of times. The pick is Vandy 1*. But Davis does have tremendous upside, and can be a real factor next year. Cover 1*

The Annual Nudgette Lingerie Show was really a big hit

Insight Bowl, Tempe, Zona: Mangino's Man-Size Appetite giving 9 To Tha Gopha's

You broke my hear Mangin-ious. You lost 4 of your last 6 games. Kansas RB Jake Sharp #1 is going to be the big factor in this game. If they can establish the run early, that will set up the spread version of the play action, that will be Reesing hitting Meier for ten yards per catch. The Gopha's are over rated, sorry. When they faced tough competition they folded like a wet blanket. The JayHawks are a much better team then their record indicates. Reesing is for real, and if your not pulling for him then your down right Un-American. Big Spread, but the JayHawks win this one by 20 points, no problem. Reesing and a FIVE STAR, Cover with the Five Star

Chick Fil A Bowl, Atlanta, Gawgia: Gawgia Tech giving 4 to The Hat.

Everyone and their Mutha is picking Tech to win outright. De-Facto home game, and the crowd will be a huge factor. Head Coach extraordinnaire Paul Johnson has done a down right fantastic job at Tech in his first year. When he went there, I knew that Josh Nesbitt would be a perfect fit in his scheme. In this game, watch beast running back Jonathon Dwyer on the full back dive. He'll be good for 5 yards per in this game. The big factor is going to be Nesbitt hitting Demaryius Thomas when LSU puts nine guys in the box to stop the run. There is a catch and a "Not SO Fast" in this one though. The reason Johnson's wing option is able to be so effective is that other teams don't face it all year and only have one week to prep their defense on the reads. LSU has had a month to focus solely on this. AND that's big, very big. The reason why Tech will win is because LSU will not get consistent play out of their QB, whoever they decide to play at any given moment. Next year, Russell Shepard starts there from Day 1 and they're a different team. This one is closer than people think! Tech 1* Loss

Alway's Great Outback Bowl, Tampa, FL: Iowa giving 4 to The Visor

I need to stop everyone from sucking off Shon Greene for a second. The reason why he was able to get sooo many yards is 1) they have no passing attack and he was the only one who could move the ball 2) he got all those yards against Purdue, Wiscy and Florida International for Christ's sake. If the guy played in the SEC, you would never had heard of him. And guess what, The Visor plays in the SEC. And not only that, he has the best defense in that conference of great defenses. Stop with all the Shonn Greene *&*%. Jasper Brinkley is the man. He will control the game. The Visor is going to run the ball down the BlackEye's throats till it hurts. Visor 3* Loss

Your secrets safe with us Nudge, we won't tell!

The Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, FL: Clemson giving 2 and a nudge to The Huskers

The Nudge flat out loves Bo Pellini. There, I said it. I love the man. Real football is back in Nebraska and everything is right with the world. Dabo Sweeney has a lot of firepower on that Clemson team, but I think the BlackShirts will lay the pipe. Look for Braska to run the ball right at Clemson and try and play keep away. I love this match up and this game, for observation purposes. For choosing who will cover, that's another matter all togethar. With a month off, does Clemson put it all togethar? Does Spiller and Davis break out of a cocoon just in time for the NFL Scouts? I don't know. Too many questions to really call this game. I'm going with BO, 1* Cover

Capital One Bowl, Disney, FL: Richt's Bulldogs giving 7 and a nudge to Dantonio's Spartans

Dantonio's Spartans are a one-trick pony. Stop Superman, and you win the game. I love that everyone's number one NFL Pick Four Weeks Ago Mathew Stafford is playing for a chance to play for the Detroit Lions in this one. For years everyone has been saying that this guy has number one pick written all over him. Now, because Stoops let Bradford play til the end of every game and they played in the no-defense Big Twelve, Bradford is all of a sudden a better pro prospect. Come on. Stafford lights this one up. FIVE STAR pick. Roll Dawgs Cover on another Five Star Pick

Nudgette Holly Vance wishing you a happy Rose Bowl

The Grand Daddy of EM ALL, ROSE BOWL: Mighty Men of Troy giving 9 to the JoePa's

A lot of movement in this line, going JoePa's way. It started out at 10 and a nudge, and has dropped a full point and a nudge. Why, because while everyone was saying how USC is going to destory the lowly Big Ten Champs, the smart money was funnelling it away on the high spread. I've always liked the JoePa's in this one. With USC FB Stanley Havili ruled academically ineligible in this one, I like it even more. Why, you might ask will a FB who only had 324 yards receiving be so missed? Because Havili has been the one to make big plays out of the backfield and keep USC in the games where the whole team has fallen asleep. The guy is Dirty Sanchez's safety outlet, and he's needed him a lot this year. The JoePa's are a good solid team. Outside of a few minutes in that Iowa game, they would be playing for a National Championship against Florida. In that game they would only be underdogs by 6 points. So why has everyone forgotten about them, and think that they can't win this one. Because their not a "SEXY" team. The SpreadHD(tm) offense is just plain solid, no award winners there. And their Defense really earns the phrase "They bring their lunch pails to the game." USC, in their game against UCLA, showed that this team can fall asleep. I know they have the number 1 defense in the country, but Penn State has the Number 8 D. This is really going to be a good game, and a good game equals a close game, and the number is too high not to jump on the JoePa's. 1*

FEDEX Orange Bowl, Miami: B-Kell's BearClaw's giving 2 to BeamerBall

VaTech has to win this one. The way the team has focused on this game, and the stories I have been hearing about how this team has been practising since they got to Miami has said a lot. I love the Beamers in this one. B-Kell and the boys are happy to be in a BCS Bowl. The Hokies must win. Next year, B-Kell will win a BCS Bowl, not this one. FIVE STAR PICK.

Bowl Record so far (notice it's back on the bottom): 13-6 overall, 1*5-2, 2* 3-2, 3*2-0, 4*2-3, 5* 1-0.

That's it, I got to go and join my one man band in a new song we're writing about Tim Tebow's biceps. See Ya sports fans!

Nudge College Bowl Picks of the Day

Since my disastrous Notre Dame pick and my meltdown of losing four bowl picks in a row, The Nudge has posted back to back to back to back wins for the second consecutive time in the last two weeks. Coming into Monday, there are two very surprisingly good bowl match ups that have kind of been hidden out there.

The PapaJohns Bowl, Bama; This game pits a resurgent Rutgers squad led by fourth year Senior Starter Mike Teel and Mr. New Jersey Football Running Back Joe Martinek against Tommy O'Brien's Wolfpack from North Carolina State. The Wolfpack have really played well down the stretch this season. They started out pretty poorly, but ever since they have found Russell Wilson, they've been covering like syrup on flapjacks.

The Nudge has lost out on my last four picks going against NC State in which they have won outright. And I have won on Rutgers last four games in which they've covered, ever since their big win against PITT. Since that win, Rutgers has beaten a South Florida team that imploded, Army, Syracuse and a horrible embarrassing Louisville team. NC State however, since Wilson took over has beaten a very good Thug-Deep Tar Heels team, A Thug-Deep Miami Team, Wake and Duke. In this one, I'm rollin with Tha Ghost Faced Thug Killas, take Irish Tommy O'Brien and the 4 and a nudge their getting. 2*

He's right, its really not all about the rattlesnake wiggles and Mississippi Bow Ties

Valero Alamo Bowl, San Antonio Tex-ass.
This game is putting two teams together that both run the spread em out offense. Northwestern runs a little bit more than Mizzoo, but both offensive sets are the same. In this game, what can you say about the job Northwestern HC Pat Fitzgerald has done. The Nudge remembers the days when Pat was bringing the Cats to the Rose Bowl while he was out on the field. Northwestern gets their super RB Tyrell Sutton back after he went down from an injury in mid season in the Indiana game. He might be a factor in this one.
Everyone and their mother is picking Mizzoo giving 10 and a nudge. At first glance, I had this game as a FIVE STAR pick going towards Mizzoo, but after seeing the Jacorry "Stringbean" Harris throw the ball against Cal's top rated pass defense the other night, it's official "Anything Can Happen."
This really should be a great game to watch, and I'm a little surprised that they put it on Monday Night. My guess is that whoever scheduled it thinks that a large bar crowd will be out watching this because there's no Monday Night Football, I disagree. This game should be played on a Saturday, either last one or next one.
Last time I changed my pick from a FIVE STAR play, it blew up in my face with the Notre Dame game. I'm still going to stick with Mizzoo. The Cats can not hang with Maclin and Coffman. Don't forget about Mizzo RB Derrick Washington. He's averaging 6 yards per carry and has 17 TD's. Take Mizzoo, even though the Big Twelve South and North are over rated this year. 4*
The Nudge covered with a 2* Thug Life getting 1 and a nudge at Pat White, a 3* with Christian Ponder and the Homies laying a brick to Wiscy, a FIVE STAR with Cal giving 6 to Miami (Hey, I gave out the pick early, if you didn't jump on it when it came out, shame on you, you didn't cover), and a 1* with Louisiana Tech.
Totals for the Bowl Nudgerama: 10-4 overall, 1* 4-2, 2* 2-0, 3* 2-0, 4* 1-2 and 5* 1-0
That's it, enjoy, I have to go soundproof the NudgeBunker a little better. Too many rugrats running around. See Ya sports fans!

Jimmy The Emu

Jimmy "The Emu" pulled through and thoroughly destroyed The Nudge's Ego

The Nudge had Notre Dame as not only a Five Star pick, but amazingly I predicted that Notre Dame QB Jimmy "The Emu" Clausen would throw for five TD's. Can you believe that, I actually predicted the number of passing TD's that he would throw. There's only one problem. Prior to the game kicking off, The Nudge got cold feet and actually went against his instinct and completely changed his pick. I was thoroughly distraught. But ND looked good playing against The Warriors at home. Their secondary looked like they fell asleep in the first five minutes of the game and never woke up. The FrontButt pulled it of, it was a must win for him, I will give him credit where it is due.

I have to tell you, this Fighting Irish team is young, real young. If they could put together a performance like that again next year, and The Nudge is thinking that they can, their going to have at least 9 wins and go to a pretty good bowl game in 2010. Even though my original pick was a Five Star play for ND to cover, fair is fair. And shame on me for thinking that the Haywood move would play a detrimental role in the game. So far for the bowl season, The Nudge missed on the TCU cover by two measly points and on the one star, stay away play on Hawaii. Bringing the total to bowl season as being 6 covers, 2 losses (a one star and a two star) no biggy. Look out for The Nudge's weekend bowl picks. Outside of the West Virginia game, the rest are locks. FSU (three star play) is going to trounce. So I'll leave you off with some photos of the Nudgettes of Tallahassee. Enjoy. Stay classy Nudgites.

We're gonna cover, in a big way Honey!

You think Christian Ponder is getting any of this grade-A Nudgette?

The Nudge Seriously Downgrades The Notre Dame Pick

The recent hiring by Miami of Ohio of Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Haywood for Head Coach has gotten The Nudge to seriously reconsider his FIVE STAR pick of Notre Dame winning in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve.

The Nudge has a rule in the wisdom of Nudgedom; if there is even the slightest of doubt about a pick, it can be in no way shape or form a FIVE STAR play. And I am starting to have serious doubts about this game. Mike Haywood is a former Notre Dame player, he's worked at Texas and LSU and finally got his dream job of coaching at Notre Dame. In the beginning of the year, The FrontButt told Mike he would be calling the plays for the offense all season long. As the season started to crumble and The FrontButt got nervous about his firing being right around the corner, The FrontButt took over the playcalling. And we all saw how good that went, they lost to Syracuse and got walloped by USC.

Now with Haywood with one foot out the door, I have to question just how much effort he's been able to put into the offensive scheme for the Bowl game. He was interviewing for jobs and structuring a contract with Miami, OH., and it must have taken time away from game planning.

For some reason, I have visions of Jimmy Clausen surfboarding and hitting on Hawaiian girls right now without a care in the world about what the game is going to be like.

So The Nudge started looking at Hawaii defensive stats for home games alone. The team doesn't travel well this year. I took the BearClaws game out of the equation, due to the fact that B-Kell's boys were a far superior team than Notre Dame or the Warriors and that game was a little off anyway cause the BearClaws had already locked down a BCS Bowl and conference championship.

For the year, Hawaii's defense is ranked 71 overall averaging giving up 27 points per game. But at home, with a 5-1 (No Cincy) record, they are averaging giving up only 18 points per game. In the Nevada win, they held Colin Kaepernick to 173 yards passing. In the New Mexico (there's a new mexico) they did allow Chase Holbrook to throw for almost 400 yards.

Since Hawaii QB Greg Alexander became the starter 6 games ago, the Warriors have gone 4-2, counting the Cincy loss. So effectively, they've gone 4-1 in their last 5 games without the Cincy loss. He's thrown for 1550 yards with 12 TD's.

There has also been major line movement in the spread in this game. Hawaii started out as the favorite giving 1 and a nudge. Now their the dog getting 1 and a nudge. That means that most of the plays in this one are heading towards ND to win outright. This ordinarily would be a good sign for The Nudge, this is what you look for. But I still can't get over the very low confidence I now have in Weiss. I'm officially calling this a stay away play. Don't go either way. But I have to make a pick so here it goes. My new pick in this one is now Hawaii 1* and may God have mercy on us all. For the record, The Nudge has never done an about face of this magnitude in the history of Nudgery.

The over/under in this one is 48, I would go under. 1*

Now since you suffered through the photo of The FrontButt enjoying his summer vacation doing some yard work, I'll leave you off with the destined to be Nudgette of the week, Azzurri Nudgette Elisabetta Gregoraci, enjoy. Ciao sportza fanza!

Tis The Season to Be Jolly, Fa La La La La....La La
Ka-ching!!

Bonus Holiday Nudgette Lucy Pinder kicks of the second phase of Bowl Nudgerama

The Nudge is never one to toot his own horn, or tell everyone how absolutely on fire his picks are, but let me tell you so far how the bowl season has been going. The Nudge hit Wake Forest and the over right out of the box. Then he cruised into winning picks in predicting the upset of Fairchilds Rams winning outright against Pat Hill's Bulldogs. Then the Four Star pick of Grobe's South Florida Bulls winning big in the De-Facto home game against a hapless, overrated Memphis team. The Nudge then predicted that Zona would come out to play and cover, followed by the Screaming Eagles of Hattiesburg pulling out the upset and winning outright. I have to tell you, I got a little nervous when SuperFrosh WR DeAndre Brown went down in the second quarter with a severe knee injury. I thought the pick was a bust and that Fedora's boys would never be able to top the other Men of Troy, but they pulled it out in OT with a blocked field goal.

Super Uber-Nudgette Lucy Pinder

So coming up in this bowl season we have the biggest-little Bowl of them all, The Poinsettia Bowl which is pitting the number 2 ranked defense in TCU against the wonder Redshirt Frosh QB Kellen Moore of Boise. We then roll into the Hawaii Bowl which pits a horrible June Jones-Less Warriors team against a Notre Dame team that lost to Syracuse...Syracuse. We then get a De-Facto home game in the Motor City bowl that sees Central Michigan and wonder QB Dan LeFevour against a resurgent Florida Atlantic team that's led by the best QB no one has ever heard of Rusty Smith. On December 27 we get three great bowl match ups that pit six BCS conference teams against each other, one of which is highlighted as being the last time anyone will ever see Pat White take a snap from center. The Meineke Car Care bowl is another De-Facto home game for Butch Davis's Thugs and their thug-like swagger. The Champs Sports Bowl features a very underachieving Wisconsin team, led by Queens NY's own running back P.J. Hill going up against a Florida State team that will actually have a couple of wide receivers geared up to play this time. Lastly, we have another De-Facto (are you getting the picture) home game against the Bears of Berkeley facing the Young Bucks of Northwestern, FL High School.

The "You know she was going to make an appearance sooner or later Nudgette Jennifer Yummy Love Hewitt" seen here in her better days

So far the bowl record is as follows (and anyone who has been following my picks all year knows that me putting my record before the fresh set of picks, might be a bad sign) but what the Hell, it's Christmas. And if you can't get cocky on Christmas, then when can you:

Overall: 6-0, 1* 3-0, 2* 1-0, 3* 1-0, 4* 1-0

Starting off with the Poinsettia Bowl, San Diego, CA: As of right now, the line has stayed steady at TCU giving 3. No movement whatsoever in this line since it came out a couple of weeks ago. What does that tell you, it tells you that no one is placing heavy action on either side, either way. I think that says a lot. Internet Sensation College Football Handicapping Legend "Rossi" swears by this game. He thinks that Vegas made the line low to trick the sports book players into thinking that this game is going to be close. He thinks it's hands down the Number 2 rated defenses game to lose and he's playing big on TCU to cripple the Broncs. To look at Boise State's undefeated record is a little misleading. Their schedule included a who's who of the worst teams in the HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. They beat up on Idaho and Idaho State, Bowling Green, Hawaii, God-Love Em Hal Mumme's New Mexico State and powerhouse Utah State. They did go into Eugene and beat the Oregon Ducks, but that was early in the season after the Ducks lost their first seven or eight starting QB's. The Nudge thought that the Broncs would lose when they travelled into Reno to face Chris Ault's resurgent Wolfpack, but I was wrong on that one. This Bronco team absolutely decimated Pat Hill's Bulldogs late in the season 61-10.

TCU on the other hand plays good old-fashioned American football where they stifle you with solid defense and run the ball till your crying to your mommy. Gary Patterson really has that team headed in the right direction and how no one hired him away from that small school yet boggles the mind. If there ever was someone deserving to go to a BCS school, he's the guy. Charles Barkley should be screaming about that. TCU's two losses came at the hands of a steamroller Oklahoma team that fought tooth and nails to come out with a victory. I know the final score didn't show that the game was close, but believe me, it was. They also lost to a Utah team that seems destined for BCS glory (who's their Ian Johnston?). TCU beat the bejesus out of BYU when they were ranked ninth in the country. I gotta tell ya, I'm not as sure on this pick as "Rossi." But if he's going FIVE STAR, then I'm going four star, I never go against the man, and it's been pretty good so far. Take the Horned Toads and look out, the BCS should have put them into the Big Bowl picture. 4* Bronc's QB Kellen Moore might be over matched here, let's see how good he is after he gets punched in the face a couple of times. Two of the best coaches in college football today, should be a great game, enjoy it!

OOOHHH, Nudgette of the week, Emmaulle Chriqui

Let's continue with the Nudgerama.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl:This game is absolutely, positively without a doubt the biggest De-Facto home game of any bowl this year. Notre Dame and Charlie Weiss's portable meat locker have to travel 3000 miles away from South Bend to play in this one. Not to mention that Weiss has to bring all the food that he will survive on for five days all the way to the island. And we are talking cargo containers full of Barbecue sauce and bacon, the logistics of such a move are tremendous. Look, I've been jumping out against Weiss all year telling everyone who will listen that this is the biggest underachieving team in possibly the history of college football. Notre Dame has had tremendous recruiting classes since Weiss has got there. I know he has only won with Tyrone's recruits. But the kids he has brought to South Bend could have played any where else that they wanted to. Jimmy Clausen, out of Thousand Oaks California was arguably the biggest recruit in the country over the past ten years. And WR Michael Floyd could have wrote his own ticket anywhere. The problem with this team is not the talent level, or the play calling, or the offensive line or the secondary. The problem with this team is that in their first game against San Diego State, they were actually smiling with one minute left to play that they had sneaked out a win. This team should have been angry that they played down to the Spaztecs level, and they weren't. Weiss hasn't motivated this team since Brady Quinn and Samarjia left it. I think that he got used to having Zbikowski and those guys motivate their own teammates and he just had to sit back and call the plays. This past month, Notre Dame's AD gave Weiss a vote of confidence and told everyone that he'll be around for one more year. I think Weiss actually wants to stay in South Bend. But to do that, he needs to motivate the Hell out of these kids. I think he does that come Wednesday. I love ND in this pick, and GOD knows they have let me down all year. I'm going out on a limb and making this a FIVE STAR pick. I think Clausen to Floyd or Tate goes for at least five TD's in this one. The crowd will not be a factor, they'll be lucky to sell 10,000 seats to Warrior fans. This is not your fathers JUNE JONESIAN Warriors, this is a horrible team that lost to Utah State. Come on Charlie Weiss, make The Nudge proud. Some where up in Heaven my grandfather will be watching this game wearing his Irish sweatshirt. 5*

Motor City Bowl, Detroit, Michigan: B-Kell's former boys are favored by 6 against a Florida Atlantic team that lost 5 of their first 6 games this year. The Owls are on fire so far ratcheting up 5 wins out of their last 6 games. The only problem with those five wins, one was against North Texas and Florida International took them into overtime. I don't know if anyone has ever seen Florida Atlantic, but if your driving by it, don't blink, it's the building that looks like a Home Depot with no signs on the front, and they took this team into overtime. The Chippewas have the ponies to win this one led by Super QB Dan LeFevour who already has posted a Motor City bowl win in his brilliant career. Their loss to Eastern Michigan late in the year was unforgivable, but this team is going to cover in a big way honey, 4* on the Chippewas

By special request from a loyal Nudge Fan, FP's Own K-Blizzle Nudgette Jessica Biel

Meineke Car Care Bowl, Charlotte NC: Right off the bat, let me start by saying this is going to be a sad game for The Nudge to watch. Not just because it's going to showcase the Thug-Like swagger of Butch Davis's Thugs, or because its going to show to everyone that Butch Davis has gotten his Thug-On back in Chappell Hill, or because its a national showcase for all of the Thugs that Butch Davis has recruited to show their Thug friends at home how they get their "Thug On" for the Tar Heels. No, all of those are good, but really The Nudge will be sad because it's the last time we get to see one of the best players we will ever see in college football take a snap and command the game like Pat White has done for the past four years. This kid came from nowhere. He was a lightly recruited athlete prospect out of Daphne HS in Alabama. Rich Rod gave the kid a schollie and let him run wild all over the Big East. Someone will draft him in April, and we'll see him return kicks and put some moves on someone. He might even go to the Pro Bowl as a Tasker-like Special Teamer. But he'll never be the field general again. Pat White, no matter what you do in this game, you'll always be in The Nudge Hall of Fame. Take The Thugs. They've been covering all year. Davis will blitz the Hell out of Pat White and make him throw. Look for a lot of ball control running by The Thugs, and then their gonna pop one over the secondary as they cheat up. 2*

Champs Sports Bowl, Orlando FL: De-Facto home game for the Seminoles, which means that the Nudgettes from Tallahassee will be at the game showing the world their goods. Look for the camera men to show them at least six times during this game. The spread in this one is 5 and a nudge. A lot of people think that this spread is super low. In every bowl pool that I'm in, I have this as one of the highest rated games to cover. But not so fast, Wiscy is led by RB P.J. Hill. Their problem all year has been at the QB position where they started out with K-State transfer Allan Evridge and switched to Dustin Sherer. I don't like this Wiscy team, any team that lost to Michigan this year should have just given up football. But this game might be closer than people think. Look out for Wiscy back up RB John Clay, the kid's a beast five star recruit out of Wisconsin. He might have a big day. But I still can't get over the low spread. Take FSU, 3* and keep an eye open for The Tallahassee Nudgettes, ain't they special! Look out for Christian Ponder next year, the Seminoles just might be back on the national radar in 2009.

Lastly, The Emerald Nut Bowl, San Fran CA: Dare I say it again, De-Facto home game for the Bears of Bizerkely. The reason why The Nudge hates watching this game every year: Sixteen thousand Emerald Nut commercials, excruciatingly painful to watch. I've told everyone that the Northwestern High School football team, otherwise known as the Canes is going to be a force in the next couple of years. Miami HC Randy Shannon knows what the Hell he is doing. Recruit in South Florida, what a concept. In this game, Miami QB Robert Marve is academically ineligible and the reins will be given solely to True Frosh QB Jacorry Harris. If anyone hasn't seen this kid play, he's like 6'5 and weighs 140 pounds. He looks like a string bean. This is the first time he will have to play the game by himself under center and the line has only moved up one point. Am I alone in this thing people. Why, oh God why is this spread soooo looowww. Next year is next year, this year the Bears stomp out a victory by at least two touchdowns. FIVE STAR pick. Watch Miami Freshman WR Travis Benjamin, the guy has sick speed. Cal only lost to Mary-Land in a great game, USC, Oregon State and Zona. Four teams that would beat a heck of a lot of other programs. This game is all Jahvid Best, for those of you that have been following me all year, you'll recall that before he got hurt I had him as a dark-horse out of nowhere possible Heisman candidate. The kid could run.

I leave you off with another shot of the Nudgette of the week

That's it. I gotta go and get down to the local BINGO hall. Their having a contest to see who has the most Urban Meyer-like hairstyle. I'm a shoe-in to win!

See ya sports fans!

Wake just ain't about graduating

Wake Forest pulls off a nice win against a good Navy team

New Nudgette of the week Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage likes the way Jim Grobe's Deacons pulled off the cover

The Nudge covered on his first two picks of the bowl season with a 2 duchess pick on Wake to cover and a 3 Duchess pick on the over at 41. Handicapping legend Rossi called the game the right way too.

The first half of the game saw Navy coming to a quick 13 point lead and it looked like the Midshipmen would be running away with this game.

The key to Wake pulling this off was Riley Skinner's ability to stay away from the rush and buy some time in the pocket. On a couple of third and long plays, he side stepped the rush and found open receivers who had dropped behind Navy's zone playinf defenders.

Nice clock management by Navy's HC with 36 seconds left. I know he's going to take some heat for trying to kick the field goal on second down (and missing it, effectively ending the game). But The Nudge actually thought it was a good move. Navy has shown this season that they are able to kick the on side kick and recover. If Navy does hit the field goal, and recover the onside kick, they would have about twenty seconds left to try and put the ball into the endzone, it's a good move.

so far the bowl picks are 2* 1-0, 3* 1-0

On to the New Mexico Bowl, should be a good one.

Handicapping Legend Rossi shares his insight

Handicapping Legend "Rossi" shares some of his bowl game locks with the Nudgites

Deal or No Deal Nudgette Kelly Brannigan, The Nudge will deal!

College Football Handicapping legends don't come around often. That's why when The Nudge was able to get his hands on some of Rossi's picks, I figured I would share them with you.

Handicapping Legend Rossi enjoying his time hanging with the groupies!

Rossi's thinking Wake Forest giving 3, but he thinks the game might be close, real close.

He's also picking the same as The Nudge rolling with Colorado State. Rossi thinks that the Rams are going to be excited playing in a bowl game and their gonna take full advantage.

New Nudgette Dannii Harwood

In the Zona-BYU game, Rossi thinks that the Mormans lack the necessary Thugs to overcome the Desert Cats in this one, he's rolling with Zona in this big game.

Rossi is jumping on South Florida and the over against Memphis. Fast track, indoor stadium, basic home game for Leavitt and the Bulls. Bulls win big.

In the TCU Boise game, Rossi thinks that Vegas set this line perfect, he say's their trying to fool everyone into thinking that the game is going to be close. Rossi tells you to lay big money on TCU.

The First Nudge Picks of the Bowl Season

Nudge's Goumba Louie C's favorite Nudgette Megan Fox is here to kick off the start of the bowl season

It’s that time of year again. The time when the college football fan is met by the anticipation of watching the bowls play out, with the depressing knowledge of knowing that the end is near. In another couple of weeks, The Nudge will return to his NudgeCave and slip into a coma until early September. But while the games are still waiting to be played, the money picks will continue to roll. So without further ado, The Nudge will attempt to pick the plays that will fill up the old bankroll….so here we go!

EagleBank Bowl, Washington, DC
Wake Forest giving 3 to Navy: Tough game to pick. At first I was leaning towards the Navy rush offense controlling this game. Navy FB Eric Kettani is a beast and will easily get the three or four yards needed for first downs to keep the ball in the Midshipmen’s hands. Then I thought, wait a second, these two teams already played each other this year. Navy won that game 24-17. But in that game, Wake (come from out of nowhere) Quarterback Riley Skinner threw four picks and Wake fumbled twice, and the game was still close. At this point, everyone knows Wake LB, Butkus Award winner Aaron Curry, he’s definitely a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. The game is being played at RFK Stadium, a stone’s throw from both schools, so a de-facto bowl home game is not part of the equation. The Nudge just still can’t get over Navy losing to Notre Dame last month. They came from behind and were looking to win it, but they needed a couple of on-side kicks to get back in it. The pick in this game is Wake Forest giving 3. Grobe is going to have this team ready, and Curry is playing for a top ten spot in the NFL Draft in April. Wake won’t turn the ball over six times again. While you’re at it, grab the over at 41 and a nudge. This number is way low because of both offenses playing run first ball control offense, but you should cover on the over by the third quarter. 2 Duchess’s on Wake, three Duchess’s on the over.

Nudgette Number 1, Megan Fox grrrrrrrrr.....
New Mexico Bowl, Albuquerque, NM
Fresno State giving 3 to Colorado St.: Colorado State Head Coach Steve Fairchild stepped into the shoes of a legend, Sonny Lubick and so far has not disappointed too badly. He had his team go 6-6 with two of those losses coming in close games at home to TCU and BYU. The Rams the last two down the stretch beating New Mexico and Wyoming. My boy Pat Hill had a bad year taking his Bulldogs to a 7-5 record with bad losses to Wiscy, Hawaii (unbelievable), LaTech, and Nevada. They were able to beat up on a down Rutgers team early in the season and a hapless UCLA team. Their other wins came against a crappy Toledo, UCLA, a horrible Idaho and Utah State team, New Mexico State and a good San Jose State team. The only win that really means anything all season was their win was at the Spartans. The Nudge is jumping on the Fairchild bandwagon for The New Mexico Bowl, 1 Duchess, Go Rams, make Sonny Lubick proud.

St. Petersburg Bowl, St. Petersburg, FL
South Florida giving 13 to Memphis: De-Facto home game for the Bulls, with the second highest spread of the bowl season. The high spread say’s something, especially when you look at how low all the other spreads are. Selvie and Grothe are going to have a field day. The Bulls last four losses come at the hands of Louisville (who actually looked good that game), on fire Cincy, on fire Rutgers and Pat White’s last home game. Selvie is playing for a top ten spot in the draft, look for him to lay the pipe on Memphis QB Arkelon Hall. Memphis almost lost to SMU, which says it all. Take the Bulls and give the points, 4 Duchesses!

Nudgette Lucy Pinder making another appearance for the Bowl Picks

Las Vegas Bowl, Vegas Baby, Vegas
Zona giving 3 to BYU: BYU should be favored, their everyone’s darlings. Their only losses came at the hands of TCU and Utah, Two of the best teams in the country. So why are they underdogs in this game, tough to figure out? The Nudge is picking Zona. They finished the season on a big win against in-state rivals and played Oregon and Oregon State tough. Zona QB Willie Tuitama will hook up with TE Rob Gronkowski and control the game, Take the Desert Cats, 1 Duchess.

Nudgette Holly Weber

New Orleans Bowl, Nawlins
Troy giving 4 to Southern Miss: The Nudge has been talking about Southern Miss do everything RB Damion Fletcher, the guy no one has ever heard of. Super Frosh, great recruit pickup by Fedora WR DeAndre Brown had a huge year for the Hattiesburg Hatchets. Fletcher averaged 112 yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry scoring at will over their last four games. Southern Miss Freshman QB Austin Davis has thrown for 21 TD’s and 8 INT’s over those same four games. Look for Fedora to have his team ready as if they were playing for the National Championship. I just don’t have any faith in the Sun Belt or in the competition that Troy has played all year. 5 of their 6 wins came against the worst 5 teams in college football; this team really isn’t that good. Screaming Eagles win outright, 1 Duchess.

Stay tuned for the pick for the Biggest Little Bowl game this year, The Poinsettia Bowl TCU v. Boise.

See ya Sports fans
